The radar reflector has a diameter of 615 mm and weighs 600 g.

It comes in a plastic bag with packed dimensions of 230 x 375 mm.

The package includes a thin cord for hanging the reflector.

A 1.60-meter-long, three-piece fiberglass pole (10 mm in diameter) is available as an accessory. Weight: 250 g. This pole is inserted into two plastic eyelets glued to the reflector. The higher mounting position significantly increases the likelihood of being detected by a ship’s radar.

The radar reflector is MED-approved. You can find the corresponding certificate under “Downloads.”

The ECHOMAX ACTIVE X and ACTIVE XS active radar reflector significantly increases the safety of small vessels through improved radar visibility.Radar signals from other ships in the 9 GHz X-band (or 2.9-3.1 GHz S-band) are received, amplified by the electronics and actively transmitted back. Small ships are thus recognised at a distance of around eight nautical miles instead of one to two nautical miles. This significantly reduces the risk of collision.An acoustic warning signal (can be switched off, external alarm up to 8 A can be connected) also indicates active radar units in the vicinity and thus also warns of approaching situations on the high seas.The slim reflector antenna is very suitable for mast mounting due to its low weight and low wind resistance.Supplied with 24 m cable and standard control box (dimensions: 92 x 38 x 51 mm) with switches and LED operating indicators. The round triple mirror reflector from the British manufacturer ECHOMAX consists of aluminum sheets that are plugged together. When disassembled, the reflector has a small pack size.The radar reflector meets the requirements for seagoing regatta yachts in accordance with the World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations (OSR). It offers a large radar cross-sectional area (RCS = 5.5 m²) with a small diameter.It is suitable for preheating or fixed mounting. A plastic bracket is available as an optional accessory for fixed mounting. The reflector is inserted into the bracket and secured with two threaded screws. The bracket can be screwed onto any standard antenna base with a 1" 14 TPI thread (see "Accessories"), which is then mounted on the spreader of a sailing yacht or on the deckhouse of a motor yacht, for example.

The space-saving, inflatable radar reflector EM230i (INFLATABLE) is ideal if the reflector is only to be used when necessary (at night, in unstable weather, in an emergency) but is part of the ship's mandatory equipment (e.g. for sea races).The reflective surface made of metallised DuPont fabric is enclosed in a tear-resistant, semi-transparent PVC cover. This has strong fixing eyes at the top, bottom and sides.The Radar Cross Sheet (RCS) is 25.6 square metres! This more than doubles the 10 square metres required for seagoing regatta yachts.
