It's appearance is reminiscent of traditional natural fibre rope.
SPLIT is made of a waterproof,decay-resistant Polypropylene- (PP)-synthetic with satisfactory abrasion resistance. It absorbs no water, doesn't stiffen over time and has relatively little stretch.
The rope is three-strand construction and is therefore easily spliced.
Because of its manufacture from fine fibers, SPLIT rope has a pleasant hand. The disadvantage: Although SPLIT is made with a UV-sabilizer, it doesn't stand up very well to sunlight. We suggest, therefore, that it be used primarily for lines that do not sit in the sun, such as dock, tow and anchor lines.
As alternative for high-sunlight areas we propose: ROBLINE-SPUNFLEX rope.
