Due to their material and construction, classic yachts and traditional ships are particularly maintenance-intensive. Not everything has to be perfect all the time, but discovering a leak will probably raise the blood pressure of every owner. Where does the water come from - can we still make it to the shipyard? A mastic leak sealant or a penetrating copolymer sealant could ease the situation. However, leaking from above has probably occurred on almost every older boat. A poorly sealed joint, a material crack or a hardened, broken sealing seam can cause a leak high-quality masking tape can greatly improve the result. Permanent plastic butyl sealing tape can not necessarily be considered as tape but can be used like tape. It does not harden and allows excellent sealing of overlapping bonds, screw joints, joints, seams, folds and small holes. When filling or sealing deck joints or deck seams of a ships' teak or wooden deck, a seam covering tape for preventing three-flank adhesion is very helpful, as the sealing profile must remain freely movable in the lower (rear) part of the joint. For this tape, we also offer a metal applicator to make reseaming easier. This tool eases the application of tape into seams.
