Description

The WEATHERDOCK antenna provides raw GPS data.

The antenna mushroom is connected to a Class B AIS transceiver or transponder (e.g. easyTRX3) using the six metre long cable (can be extended up to 15 metres with RG213/U cable) with TNC connector.

These require GPS raw data that is accurate to 1/1000 of a second. An active antenna supplies data via NMEA, e.g. to the chart plotter, which is only accurate to a maximum of 1/10 of a second.
