Description

The portable induction hob IHP from Sterling is a single, free-standing induction hob for use on a work surface and can be stowed away when not in use. It operates at 230 VAC / 50 Hz and delivers up to 1500 W maximum power. The power consumption can be adjusted in 8 stages from 200 to 1500 W and is therefore also designed for operation via an inverter. The cooking zone is located under a black crystal glass plate (Ø 260 mm) and consists of a double-layer coil heater. A display provides information about the power, and protection functions against overtemperature, over/under voltage and overcurrent are also integrated. Without suitable induction cookware, the appliance switches off automatically after 1 minute.

  • portable and storable - ideal for storing in a drawer and setting up when needed.

Induction hotplates are becoming increasingly popular on board.
The prerequisite for this is a 230 V sine wave AC voltage, which is provided either by shore power, a sine wave inverter or a generator.
When selecting a sine wave inverter, it is important to ensure that it is large enough to operate several hobs at the same time.
Sterling recommends a sine wave inverter with at least 1500 W. Sufficient battery capacity and an appropriate cable cross-section in the DC area on board must also be ensured so that the inverter can be operated (ideally a lithium battery with at least 300 Ah).
When operating via a generator, it must be ensured that a pure sine wave voltage is available at the output. When calculating the correct dimensioning, other consumers must also be taken into account (this also applies to the battery capacity and the selection of the inverter).
