TOPLICHT is the right place for you if:
⚓ commercial or technical understanding
⚓ and boatbuilding or sailing experience
⚓ and enthusiasm for ships and their equipment.
Whether recreational or commercial shipping: from dinghies and cruising yachts to harbor tugs and cruise ships, we equip vessels with (technical) equipment components.
We are looking for professionally experienced colleagues who can engage with our customers on an equal footing. This includes a certain level of expertise in equipping, restoring, commissioning, building or repairing ships and their interiors.
Every day, we deal with questions about setting up rigging, the right boatbuilding tools, paint systems, anchor chain lengths, the safety equipment required for commercial shipping, brass casting, kerosene stoves, pump capacity and charging current.
Can you contribute to these topics?
Then bring your expertise to the table!
Apply and join TOPLICHT.
What you can expect from us:
Flexible working hours are standard for us, whether in terms of the number of hours per week or how they are distributed across the individual days. A full-time week comprises 38.5 hours. Arriving late or leaving early is possible at any time in consultation with the team. During the high season from March to July, there is a lot to do, and any overtime that may arise can be compensated with time off during the winter months.
Employer subsidies for travel costs or occupational pension schemes are gladly used by most employees. Mobile working is generally possible on individual days of the week. However, most of us live nearby and come to work by bike every day, so most communication takes place on site in the office and warehouse. Whether JobRad or D-Ticket: We support sustainable mobility, whether with covered bicycle parking spaces in the courtyard including a shower in the basement or the company-owned cargo bike.
A family business, run in the second generation by Gesa Thönnessen. The longest-serving employees have been with TOPLICHT for over 35 years. Accordingly, we have known each other well for a long time. We have flat hierarchies and are usually in a good mood at work. This has a positive effect on the working atmosphere. We treat each other with appreciation and also get along well outside working hours. We regularly have barbecues together on the roof terrace or go out to the bars in Ottensen. Of course, there is high-quality Fairtrade coffee and tea, and someone regularly brings something to snack on or enjoy.
A pleasant working atmosphere prevails in the bright open-plan wooden offices, where work is carried out at height-adjustable desks with good technical equipment. Things can get busy there at times, and there is a lively exchange among colleagues. The warehouse is highly modern and designed for fast processes. Wooden shelving and underfloor heating nevertheless ensure a pleasant working environment.
Like-minded people: Most of us are sailors and boat owners. Our "TOPLICHT fleet" includes everything from wooden Dragon boats and flat-bottomed vessels to the X99. During breaks, there is plenty of shop talk, and colleagues share tips and experiences with one another. We can in turn apply this knowledge in our daily work. Employees receive discounts on the TOPLICHT range.
Work-life balance is particularly important to us. We are a family business, and the third generation already has its playpen and toys in the office. So we know the challenge. We are a member of the company network “Erfolgsfaktor Familie” and are committed to a family-oriented HR policy. Colleagues with school-age children are given priority when planning holidays, families are included in company celebrations, and parental leave is planned together. There is a changing table and a room for breastfeeding. For this, we were awarded the Hamburg seal for family-friendly companies.
Professional and personal development: Many trained tradespeople work with us who have switched to a commercial profession. We try to recognize everyone's talents and potential and use them in the best possible way. Further training is also supported. Moving between departments and positions is quite common. Regular product training ensures that everyone is familiar with the range and the products and can pass on their knowledge.
