On-board desalinators from KATADYN: Compact, portable hand-held devices for life rafts and individual emergency and survival equipment.
These systems are used worldwide by many life raft manufacturers as standard equipment and are also widely used in the field of seakayaking.
The small systems work according to the proven principle of "reverse osmosis": dissolved salts and solids are filtered out of the seawater through fine membranes at high pressure (approx. 60 bar) and flushed away.
This pressure is generated in the KATADYN desalinators by a special mechanical process (Energy Recovery System) in manual operation.
Type 06-RES is specially designed as emergency equipment for ships, lifeboats and life rafts. The device is supplied completely airtight and is also optimized for recycling. After a period of use or storage of five years, the used desalination pump can be returned. A special discount is granted on the purchase of a new Survivor 06-RES after return shipment.
