On modern sailing yachts, halyards usually run through masthead sheaves. Via deck leads they are led to a winch and fixed with a halyard stopper. Similar to ropes for trim lines, halyard ropes on sailboats have to cope with narrow bending radii and high loads due to pressure and friction. To avoid frequent re-tensioning, they should have a minimum of elongation. The Toplicht range extends from the wear-resistant all-round standard polyester yacht halyard to the high-strength Dyneema halyard with thick polyester sheathing, which meets the highest demands and is an alternative to wire halyard. Many cruising yachtsmen appreciate durability and abrasion resistance. The jib or main sheet should have the right feel and not tend to buckle. In addition to products such as the classic double-woven white polyester sheet, the Toplicht assortment also includes pre-stretched Dyneema regatta sheets with extra grippy woven sheathing suitable for racing sailors. In addition to the proven HIGH-LOAD polyester rope, our abrasion and UV-resistant DOCKLINE hawser is also very suitable as a dock line for yachts. Even after long periods of use, the rope will still be soft and smooth. These hawsers are also available with spliced eye.
