The degree ring has a full-circle degree marking. A thread sight on the object side and a slit sight on the observer side are used for taking bearings. A shadow pin for insertion into the centre piece is included.The bearing device must be ordered together with the compass if required, as it requires factory adjustment.B+C Compensations are used to correct the ship's longitudinal (B) and transverse (C) fields. This compensation is generally recommended for all magnetic compasses.The compensation device consists of two magazines, one for the B compensation (neutralises the permanent fore-and-aft field and one for the C compensation (neutralises the permanent athwartships field). Both magazines are identical. The magazines can be opened by loosening the two screws visible at the top and removing the U-shaped covers. There are two magnets in each of the magazines that can be inserted into the different holes.
