First make cuts only up to the adhesive layer through the material, once it is finished, then fold it over and trim it. Then cut through the sticky layer with another cutting tool. If you cut through both layers at once, the blade often sticks and the cut through the insulation material can become irregular. Match the panel joints as precisely as possible, even around fixtures in the boat. Larger gaps create sound bridges, which can significantly impair the insulation result. Then seal the joints of the panels and the open cut edges with aluminum adhesive tape.
